Chevrolet gave the 454 LS6 a last hurrah by creating the ZR2 for 1971. Chevrolet still rated the big-block with its aluminum cylinder heads at 425 hp. (it was rated at 450 hp in the 1970 Chevelle). The ZR2 package for ’71 included all of the high-performance options, including a Muncie M-22 transmission, twin-disc clutch, heavy duty brakes and suspension with larger anti-sway bars, and an aluminum radiator. As proof of its priorities, the ZR2 wasn’t available with a radio. |
Estimate was $475k to $600k at Mecum. |
