One of 201 famously ordered by Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, Chevrolet dealer and racer Don Yenko through GM’s Central Office Production Order (COPO) program. The Yenko Super Camaro was factory equipped with the 1966 Corvette L72 Mark IV V-8 engine, which incorporated a forged rotating assembly, 11.0:1 compression, a high-lift, high-duration, solid-lifter camshaft, high-flow cylinder heads and a Holley 800 CFM 4-barrel carburetor on a Winters high-rise aluminum intake manifold.
Official rating of 425 HP at 5,600 RPM was likely closer to 450 HP at 6,400 RPM. The car made $363k, beating its estimate at Mecum.
