1968 Chevrolet Yenko Camaro RS/SS

YS-8035. Held by current owner for the last 42 years. Built by Don Yenko. 1 of a purported 64 Yenko Super Camaros made for 1968. 1 of 11 RS/SS Yenko Camaros made in 1968. Matador Red over black. Functional Ram-Air fiberglass hood with hood pins. 12-bolt Positraction rear end with 4.88 gears and C-clip eliminators. 140 mph speedometer with auxiliary 3-gauge pod mounted centrally under the dash. Front disc brakes. 1 1/16 inch sway bar.

Behold American muscle car royalty.
Ranide Berton of Bridgeville, Pennsylvania bought YS-8035 on October 29, 1968, ringing up a huge $5,445.20. In 2010, the car was stripped to bare metal. A new coat of the original color of Matador Red was applied. At some point, the car’s speedometer cable was removed, with the odometer reading 7,130 miles.
Will this baby be given away? Probably not. In 2017 an award winning 1968 Yenko Super Camaro sold for $600k and it was not an RS/SS.

Up for grabs at Mecum.
