1987 Porsche 959 Komfort - $2.1m

The Porsche 959 is an all-wheel-drive, twin-turbocharged, homologation car that represented the pinnacle of Porsche’s technological know-how. Power output was factory rated at 444 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. The 959 was the fastest production car in the world when new, with a zero-to-60 time of under four seconds and a top speed of 197mph. 337 examples were produced between 1986 and 1988. This 959 shows just over 1,300 kilometers.
The 2.85L M959/50 flat-six was based on the unit found in the 956 and 962 race cars and features water-cooled, four-valve cylinder heads as well as titanium connecting rods, forged alloy pistons, Nikasil-lined air-cooled cylinders, and sequential turbochargers. Power is sent to all four wheels via six-speed manual transmission and a computer-controlled Porsche-Steuer Kupplung (PSK) system can route up to 80% of power to the rear wheels.

2016 F60 America - $3.6m

The F60 America was built to celebrate 60 years of Ferrari in North America. 10 cars were built, which were based on the F12 Berlinetta. Reputed price was $2.5m, a serious step up from the $320k price tag of the Ferrari F12 berlinetta. Finished in “Blu Nart” the car has a V12 that produces 730 hp. 0-60 mph comes in 3.1 seconds.
This F60 has covered all of 110 miles (177 km). RM Sothebys suggested the car would bring $3.5m - $4.5m.

1998 Volvo V70 Wagon - Breaking Bad

Screen used in AMC's hit shows Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. Driven by Giancarlo Esposito in the show who played Gus Fring in the second, third and fourth seasons of Breaking Bad.
The vehicle choice of the Volvo V70 wagon lent to Frings' unassuming public persona. After production wrapped on Breaking Bad, the car was gifted to Giancarlo Esposito.

Ferrari Daytona SP3

The Daytona SP3 is a limited series, carbon fibre, mid-engined V12 two-seater. Ferrari will make 599 examples which will cost $2.25m. They are all already spoken for, with deliveries due to start at the end of 2022. A 6.5-litre V12 makes 829bhp. Redline is 9,500 rpm. Top speed is in excess of 211mph, 0-62mph in 2.85 seconds, 124mph in 7.4 seconds. The engine is mated to a 7-speed automatic dual-clutch gearbox.
The SP3 bodywork sits on a LaFerrari chassis, with carbon fiber used for the shell, chassis and certain bodywork elements.

The car weighs 1,485 kg.

2020 McLaren Speedtail - $3.3m

Mecum's Kissimmee 2022 auction saw a cutting edge McLaren Speedtail up for grabs. Mecum's estimate was $3.5m to $4m.
194 miles. No. 100 of 106 built. Dihedral doors. 4.0L/1,035 HP M840T twin-turbocharged V-8 engine with parallet hybrid system eMotor. Automatic transmission. Volcano Yellow exterior. Galvanic Grey brushed and polished brightwork. Gloss Black engine cover. MSO bespoke Yellow and Black interior.
The Speedtail has a top speed of 250.4 mph (403 km/h) and can accelerate from 0–299 km/h (0–186 mph) in 12.8 seconds. The Speedtail is fitted with electrochromic glass, which darkens at the push of a button, eliminating the need for sun visors and also incorporates LED lights in the interior.
Billed as a Hyper-GT and the fastest McLaren ever, the car carried an MSRP of around $2.5 million.
The land rocket sold for $3.3m at Mecum.
A 2020 McLaren Speedtail with a scant 275 miles, the 87th of 106 built, was up for grabs at Mecum. High bid was $2.5m against an estimate of $2.8m to $3m.

1998 Subaru Impreza 22B STi

This Impreza 22B STi has been listed online by Silverstone Auctions and is expected to sell for between $120k and $144k. That is big money, whats the deal? The 22B STi is far from a normal Impreza. The Japanese brand built the car to celebrate both its 40th anniversary and third consecutive World Rally Championship title. 425 examples were built worldwide.
Powering the 22B STi is a turbocharged 2.2-liter flat-four producing 280 hp at 6,000 rpm and 268 lb-ft of torque at 3,200 rpm. Coupled to this is a five-speed manual transmission sending power through all four wheels.

Countach LPI 800-4

The first deliveries of the Countach LPI 800-4 have occurred. Lamborghini is building 112 units and each one was sold long ago. A hybrid V12 engine generates 803 horsepower, sent to all four wheels.
Price is nobody's business but is said to be in excess of £2m.

A 1970 Plymouth Road Runner HEMI Superbird was top lot at $1.6m. It has had a professional restoration and is one of 135 produced. It is powered by its original numbers matching 426ci HEMI V8 engine mated to a TorqueFlite 727 automatic transmission and a Chrysler 8 ¾-inch with a 3.55 ratio sure grip axle.

Cheap Classics

The Datsun 240Z is the first generation of Z GT 3-door two-seat coupés, produced by Nissan from 1969 to 1978. It was one of the most successful sports car lines ever produced. The heart of the 240Z is a 2.4-liter six-cylinder engine pumping out 151 hp. The 240Z's sleek styling, modern engineering, relatively low price, and impressive performance was a hit with the public. On top of that, the 240Z is super reliable with many still on the road today.
1990 Corvette ZR-1. In 1990 Chevy partnered with Lotus to build the ZR-1. 3,049 ZR1 coupes were produced at an original list price of $58,995. Powered by a Lotus-built 5.7-liter LT5 V8 generating 375 hp, the ZR-1 could go from 0 to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds and had a top speed of 180 mph.
The R129 generation of the Mercedes-Benz SL Class is a landmark of the auto industry. The R129 was lauded for its over-engineered nature and was considered to be one of the most advanced cars of the '90s. The most powerful engine is an M120 V12 pumping out 389 hp. The R129 is available for around $30k, making it one of the cheapest V12-powered sports cars you can buy.

'Big 5' of modern Ferrari = $ 17m

The Ferrari 288 GTO was still being developed while Enzo Ferrari was still alive. 272 were built featuring a 2.9-liter twin-turbocharged V8. A 1985 288 GTO in concours condition is trending around $3m according to Hagerty.
The last car signed off by Enzo was the Ferrari F40, which began production in 1987 and ended it in 1992. The F40 was Ferrari’s first 200 mph road car, featuring a 2.9-liter twin turbocharged V12. 1,300 were made with top examples making around $2m according to Hagerty.
The Ferrari F50 featured a naturally aspirated V12, which produces 520 bhp. 349 units made, and the current value for a top example is something around $4.5m.
Ferrari released the Enzo in 2002. The naturally aspirated V12 pushes 660 bhp and boasts a top speed of almost 220 mph. 400 were made, and are valued around $4m at the top end.
The 2013 La Ferrari rounds out the essential. The naturally aspirated V12 brought Ferrari into the hybrid space with a bang. The car produces nearly 1000 bhp. 500 units were built. A top example will bring at least $3m
