The F5’s engine is a 6.6-litre twin-turbo V8 that produces over 1,792bhp at 8,000rpm and 1,192lb ft of torque at 5,000rpm making it the most powerful road car engine in the world. Top speed is claimed to be 301 mph. Hennessey predicts the car will accelerate from 0–186 mph (0–300 km/h) in under 10 seconds and from 0–249 mph (0–400 km/h) in 20 seconds. Transmission is a 7-speed single-clutch automated manual transmission with paddle-shifters, driving the rear wheels. |
The car sports five drive modes: Sport, Wet, Track, Drag, and F5. The F5 is the epitome of power and can only be unleashed at 140 mph and beyond. Production is limited to 24 units, 12 of which were already sold by December 2020. The price of the car in the United States was initially US$1.6m, but later increased to US$2.1m for the remaining 12 units. |
Hennessey announced in August that the last examples were snapped up at Monterey Car week. |
