1965 Ferrari 500 Superfast - $1.8m

S/N 6305. No. 15 of 36 produced between 1964-1966. Reputedly the only Superfast factory-delivered in Nero. Ferrari Classiche Certification Red Book. Purchased new by Count Guido Monzino. Original matching numbers 5.0L/400 HP Tipo 208 V-12 engine. Comprehensive engine rebuild.
Ferrari’s wealthiest and most demanding clients were offered the 400 Superamerica 1959-1964 and 500 Superfast 1964-66. Powering the 500 Superfast was the ultimate development of Aurelio Lampredi’s “Long Block” V-12 engine. Designated Tipo 208, the 500 SF engine displaced nearly 5.0L—4961 cc.
Production included 25 “first series” cars, followed by a dozen “second series” examples, which shared updates with the 330 GT including a 5-speed gearbox. This car was estimated $2m to $2.5m at Mecum.
