1970 Chevrolet Chevelle LS6 - $170k

Original CRV LS6 454/450 HP engine. Correct 3967477 carburetor. Original M22 4-speed transmission. CRW 4.10 Positraction. Power steering and front disc brakes. F41 suspension. Tilt steering column. Cowl induction hood. Bucket seats with console. Padded dash, AM radio. SS wheels with Goodyear Polyglas tires. 29,453 original miles.
The LS6 bludgeoned all challengers for its title as King of the Streets. Sitting atop the muscle car food chain in 1970 was Chevy's SS Chevelle. Not the lame SS454, but the King Kong, RPO Z15. Checking off this option delivered a 450 hp, 454 cubic inch solid lifter behemoth that cranked out 500 lbs.-ft. of twist.
4,475 LS6 Chevelles were built but there is no break down to separate coupe, convertible and El Caminos in that total. Price guides put the values at $150k on the high end for a Chevelle hardtop and $166k for a convertible. This example appears at Mecum.
