Hennessey Performance unveils Venom F5 Engine

Hennessey Performance have been cranking out some of the world's most powerful modified production cars for over a decade. Now, they have taken another step towards releasing their first ground-up supercar, the Venom F5.

At this year's Monterey Car Week, Hennessey gave the public a first glimpse at the heart and soul of the Venom F5, its custom-built 7.6-liter, twin-turbocharged V8. Hennessey claims the engine will create up to 1,600 horsepower and 1,300 lb-ft of torque.
Hennessey is shooting to break the magical 300 mile per hour mark, setting a new record for world's fastest production car. The current world-beater is Koenigsegg's Agera RS, with a verified top speed of 284.55 mph and a two-way average of 277.9 mph. Besides straight-line records, the F5 will head to the Nürburgring with hopes to squash the Porsche 911 GT2 RS's current rear-wheel-drive lap time of 6:47.3.
