1962 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint Zagato - Barn Find

A 1962 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint Zagato sat in a basement in Turin for 35 years. Its mechanic owner never got around to fixing the broken lift that trapped the car in its subterranean home. Nor did he write a will. So, following his passing, the car was rediscovered right where he left it ... stranded in the basement.

This example is an early 1962 car. The SZ, or Sprint Zagato, was the pinnacle of performance for Alfa's humble Giulietta. These cars were campaigned by private racers for several motorsport events, including the 24 Hours of Le Mans. One of 200 examples, it reportedly went to government auction, where it sold for almost $650,000
