Ferrari has the Best Engine in the World, Again

Claiming the title of overall Engine of the Year is the 3.9-liter turbocharged V8 engine found in the 488 Pista. The powerplant also won in the 3-liter to 4-liter class, the Performance Engine category, and the special nomination for the “Best of the Best."

The naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 engine used in the 812 Superfast also took home two awards, one for the Above 4-liter class, and another for the Best New Engine category. The powerplant was eligible for the Best New Engine category since it was comprehensively re-engineered with 75-percent new components from the 6.3-liter that was used in the F12berlinetta.
"Redeveloped and tweaked for the 488 Pista, the best engine in the world just got better. Without doubt, we’re looking at an engineering masterclass from Ferrari. No turbo lag, beautiful delivery, raw emotion, a furious growl and so much power – this Ferrari V8 is a work of art.”
