The Ultimate Muscle Car – 1970 LS6 Chevelle

The 1970 LS6 Chevelle delivered a 450 horsepower, 454 cubic inch solid lifter behemoth that cranked out 500 lbs.-ft. of torque and bludgeoned any challengers for its title as King of the Streets. It is considered one of the greatest Chevelles ever produced, and was the only GM car at the time to have ever topped the horsepower rating of the Corvette.

Chevrolet produced 4,475 LS6 Chevelles.
Factory standard Chevelle SS 454 LS6 models were reported to be able to accelerate from zero to 60mph in just over 6 seconds. Even today, they continue to break the 12 and 13-second quarter mile marks.

LS6 Chevelles remain highly sought-after collectors cars. They still remain a respected icon some 48 years later.

A completely restored, factory-correct 1970 Chevelle SS 454 LS6 with numbers-matching engine and Muncie M22 transmission recently sold at the Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas Auction for just under $150,000
