Car Auctions in the News

The very first 2019 Chevy Corvette ZR1 with VIN 001 sold at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale, Ariz. for $925,000. The proceeds went to charity. The car packs a hand-built supercharged 6.2-liter LT5 V8 engine making 755 horsepower and 715 pound-feet of torque. The winning bidder will select if they want a ZR1 coupe or convertible.
A handsome Ford GT went home for a whopping $2.55 million. The proceeds again went to charity.
Topping RM Sotheby's sale was a 2017 Bugatti Chiron, one of only 500. The 1,500-horsepower coupe was offered with less than 1,500 kilometers on its odometer and sold for an auction-record $4,138,068.75.
Second-highest price paid at the auction was the $2,492,334.38 paid for a 2005 Maserati MC12, one of only 50 produced.
3nd place was a 1993 Bugatti EB110 SS Prototype. The car was one of 36 produced, had been driven only 3,300 kilometers since new, and sold for a record $1,434,862.50
