Koenigsegg shuts down Nevada highway for Speed Record

Koenigsegg managed to get the state of Nevada to shut down an 11-mile section of route 160 that runs between Las Vegas and Pahrump, Nevada, to allow the Swedish maker of hypercars to attempt to set a land-speed world record for the fastest production car.

A Koenigsegg Agera RS driven by Koenigsegg factory driver, Niklas Lilja, completed high speed runs. The average speed achieved, measuring runs in both directions, was 447.0 km/h (277.9 mph). This is a new world record for a production vehicle.
